The Hornets outrebounded the Suns 57-47 last night but it didn’t matter as they shot a woefully pathetic 28.9% from the floor!  Carl Landry led the way for the Hornets in this game with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.  Jarrett Jack had a rough night shooting 6 of 20 from the floor but he still finished up with 12 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 1 blocked shot.  Emeka Okafor pitched in with 10 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot last night.  The Hornets are now 2-1 on the year.

New Orleans Hornets 97, Boston Celtics 78

The Hornets outrebounded the Celtics 48-37 and they held them to 37.2% shooting from the floor last night, which were big reasons for the easy win.  Jarrett Jack (21 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots) and Carl Landry (20 points, 11 rebounds and 1 blocked shot) led the way for the Hornets last night.  Emeka Okafor (13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocked shots), Marco Belinelli (13 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal) and Chris Kaman (12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots) also pitched in with solid games last night.  The Hornets are now 2-0 on the season.

The Hornets played great defense in holding the Suns to 39.5% shooting from the floor and that is the main reason they got a nice road win to open the season.  Eric Gordon led the way for the Hornets in this game with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Carl Landry (14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) and Trevor Ariza (13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot) also had solid games for the Hornets.  Marco Belinelli, Chris Kaman and Greivis Vasquez pitched in with 10 points apiece in this game for the Hornets.  The Hornets are now 1-0 on the year.

Game #6: Los Angeles Lakers 98, New Orleans Hornets 80

The Hornets were outrebounded 43-30 last night and it really hurt them in this game.  Carl Landry led the way for the Hornets last night with 19 points and 2 rebounds.  Trevor Ariza also had a somewhat decent game with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists last night.  Marco Belinelli only shot 4 of 12 from the floor but he still finished up with 11 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist  and 2 steals.  Chris Paul didn’t have his best game last night but he still finished up with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 2 steals.  The Hornets season is now over as the Lakers beat them 4-2, but at least they gave them a fight.

The Hornets got outrebounded 42-25 and it really hurt them in last night’s game.  Trevor Ariza led the way for the Hornets last night with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Chris Paul had another good game last night with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 12 assists and 1 steal.  Marco Belinelli pitched in with 21 points, 1 assist and 1 steal last night.  The Hornets are now down 3-2 in this series as they are now in desperation mode.

The Hornets hung tight for three quarters before the Lakers outscored them 25-18 in the 4th quarter to pull away.  Carl Landry (23 points and 5 rebounds) and Chris Paul (22 points, 5  rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals) led the way for the Hornets last night.  Emeka Okafor (15 points, 8 rebounds and 1 blocked shot) and Trevor Ariza (12 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Hornets last night.   The Hornets are down 2-1 to the Lakers in this series.

The Hornets only shot 39.1% from the floor last night and they were outrebounded 44-36 which did them in.  Trevor Ariza (22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot) and Chris Paul (20 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists) led the way for the Hornets last night.  Carl Landry pitched in with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots in this game despite only shooting 4 of 12 from the floor.  The Hornets are now all tied up at 1 game apiece with the Lakers as the series shifts to the Big Easy for the weekend.

The New Orleans Hornets shocked the NBA World yesterday by beating up on the Lakers in L.A. yesterday.  The Hornets shot 51.9% from the floor and they outscored the Lakers 36-28 in the 4th quarter to put them away.  Chris Paul led the way for the Hornets yesterday with 33 points, 7 rebounds, 14 assists and 4 steals.  Carl Landry (17 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist) and Jarrett Jack (15 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in 22 minutes) also had solid games for the Hornets yesterday.  Aaron Gray (12 points) and Marco Belinelli (10 points) also pitched in for the Hornets yesterday.  The Hornets are now up 1-0 on the Lakers in this series.

Dallas Mavericks 121, New Orleans Hornets 89

The Hornets once again showed no heart last night as the Mavericks outscored them 63-28 in the second half!  Jarrett Jack led the way for the Hornets last night with 22 points, 7 assists and 1 blocked shot in 29 minutes on the floor.  Marco Belinelli pitched in with 14 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals.  Quincy Pondexter and Carl Landry also pitched in with 10 points apiece for the Hornets.  The Hornets finished the 2010-11 regular season with a 46-36 record.

Utah Jazz 90, New Orleans Hornets 78

The Hornets didn’t play much D as the Jazz shot 55.2% from the floor last night and it cost them this game.  Chris Paul led the way for the Hornets last night with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Marco Belinelli (13 points, 1 assist and 1 steal), Willie Green (12 points) and Jason Smith (12 points) also pitched in for the Hornets last night.  The Hornets are now 46-35 on the year.
