The Hornets outscored the Blazers 27-21 last night in the 4th quarter to surge to a nice home win.  Carl Landry led the way for the Hornets last night with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Marco Belinelli (16 points and 2 rebounds) and Emeka Okafor (15 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots) also had solid games last night.  Willie Green (12 points) and Chris Paul (11 points) also pitched in for the Hornets last night.  The Hornets are  now 43-32 on the year.

Los Angeles Lakers 102, New Orleans Hornets 84

The Hornets were clearly outclassed by the Lakers last night in L.A.  Carl Landry led the way for the Hornets last night with 24 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot.  Emeka Okafor filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots in this game.  Chris Paul pitched in with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals.  The Hornets are now 42-32 on the year.

The New Orleans Hornets lose David West for the rest of the year

Starting power forward David West tore his ACL last Thursday Night and he will miss the rest of the year.  West played in 70 games (all starts) for the Hornets this year and he averaged 35.0 minutes, 18.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  Carl Landry will replace West in the starting lineup and they need him to step up.  Landry has played in 14 games (1 start) for the Hornets since coming to them in a deal with the Kings and he is averaging 22.5 minutes, 10.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  Landry will likely be able to replace West’s points but not his defense and rebounding.  This is a big blow to the Hornets.

The Hornets shot 50% from the floor last night and they outscored the Suns 33-22 in the 4th quarter to surge to victory.  Chris Paul led the way for the Hornets last night with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists.  Carl Landry (19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals) and Jarrett Jack (17 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists and 2 steals) also had very solid games for the Hornets last night.  Trevor Ariza (16 points) and Willie Green (15 points) also pitched in for the Hornets last night as they improved to 42-31 on the year.

Emeka Okafor hit a miracle shot as time expired in the 4th quarter to send this game into overtime.  The Hornets outscored the Jazz 16-12 in O.T. to get a huge road win in Salt Lake City last night.  David West (29 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Chris Paul (24 points, 3 rebounds and 12 assists) led the way for the Hornets last night.  Jarrett Jack also had a very solid game last night for the Hornets with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.  Trevor Ariza (14 points), Marco Belinelli (14 points), Emeka Okafor (12 points) and Aaron Gray (10 points) also pitched in with decent games for the Hornets last night.  The Hornets are now 41-31 on the year.

27-year old small forward Carl Landry has been playing solid basketball since coming over from the Kings in the Marcus Thornton deal.  Landry has played in 12 games (0 starts) for the Hornets so far and he is averaging 22.5 minutes, 10.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  He is shooting 55.6% from the floor for the Hornets as he is bringing instant offense off the bench.  The Hornets hope that Landry keeps up the good work for them because Thornton is doing really well for the Kings.

The Hornets were outscored 49-34 in the second half last night and that was the reason for the loss.  David West led the way for the Hornets last night with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Marco Belinelli also had a solid game for the Hornets last night with 23 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.  Trevor Ariza (10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals) and Emeka Okafor (10 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots) also had solid games for the Hornets last night.  The Hornets are now 40-31 on the year.

The Hornets outrebounded the Suns 43-36 last night which aided them big time in holding them off.  Chris Paul led the way for the Hornets last night with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals.  David West (16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists) and Emeka Okafor (16 points, 11 rebounds and 1 blocked shot) also had big games for the Hornets last night.  Willie Green pitched in with 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot last night.  The Hornets are now 40-30 on the year.
