The Hornets just fell a tad short against the Grizzlies last night. Marcus Thornton had another outstanding game for the Hornets last night with 24 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 32 minutes off the bench. Peja Stojakovic also had a solid night with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Darren Collison pitched in with 17 points, 14 assists and 5 steals last night. The Hornets are now 31-31 on the year.

Something has gotten into rookie shooting guard Marcus Thornton lately. In his last 5 games, Thornton is averaging 32.8 minutes, 26.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He is shooting an amazing 53.8% from three point range in his last five games for the Hornets. Overall, Thornton has played in 52 games (6 starts) for the Hornets this year and he is averaging 22.3 minutes, 12.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. He is now shooting 40.2% from three point range this season. Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton have really given the Hornets a huge boost in the absence of Chris Paul and they hope they keep up the good work.

The Hornets didn’t play any D last night as the Spurs shot 50.6% from the floor and it killed them in the end. Marcus Thornton had another outstanding game off the bench for the Hornets last night. He scored 30 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and he dished out 2 assists in only 27 minutes on the court. Thornton also shot an amazing 6 of 7 from three point range last night. Emeka Okafor was solid around the basket last night for the Hornets as he finished up with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Darren Collison pitched in with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 15 assists and 2 steals last night. The Hornets are now 31-30 on the year which has them 4 games behind the Trailblazers for the 8th slot in the Western Conference playoffs.
